Chessed Task Force

Picture from first group meeting

Chessed Task Force of Greater Washington and Chaverim  came into being when a group of qualified individuals recognized the Greater Washington community’s need for a general resource organization that people could turn to in their difficult times. These individuals committed themselves to volunteer their time, skills, resources and expertise to help their community in times of need or crisis (think: Hurricane Sandy).

Additionally, we promote and coordinate the use of locally skilled members and manpower of the broader Jewish Community.  At a time of crisis, we help to manage these resources to augment the efforts of local public safety organizations and see that the specific needs and sensitivities of the Jewish community are met..

This model has proven to be an invaluable community resource in numerous Jewish Communities around the world and with their help along with the help of many other professionals and many devoted locals we have tailored the operation to fit the Greater Washington Jewish Communities’ needs.

The Chessed Task Force Hotline is manned by a dispatch coordinator along with 5 additional dispatchers 24 hours a day, 6 days a week.
